A few weeks ago I was back home in London, UK where I took portraits of Jadan Lee.

Jadan Lee is a musician, singer and a song writer. An amazing talent. We spent time inside a photography studio creating shots that he wanted specifically with a dramatic look. We worked on these, and once we were happy I took the opportunity to shoot some frames on film with the Mamiya.

Hanging out with Jadan Lee was awesome. We talked about creativity, pushing ourselves, working hard and honing our craft. Film is doing this to me. I’m working hard at improving my eye mainly (always), but having so much fun at the same time. I’ll always shoot digitally, but its nice to throw in a bit of organic film photography every now and then too. Film really is changing me as a photographer.

This was the first time I’ve used Fuji Pro 400H film and the colours are just beautiful.. I shot a few frames inside the studio under continuous lighting conditions (.. why not right? ) .. and then we headed outside. Thanks to Caribou Film Labs for scanning and developing these. As a side note, they are a Canadian lab and are kickin’ ass. I love their customer service, the feedback they provide and their turnaround times. Legit. If you shoot film and are looking for a lab, do check them out.

Onto the images .. Inside the studio first..

Then outside for some evening sun .. Love the flare from the 80 f/1.9 ..

Loving the light reflections in this image below .. ahh I live for this stuff..

Thank you Jadan Lee!

  1. These are great, Sachin! Obviously helps to have a dapper subject and sweet light, but you rocked it! Love the textures of the tweed and tie.

  2. Hot diggity dang. Beautiful colour Sach! Bravo friend.

  4. These are wicked good! I love how much character you’re capturing here – and with manual focus!
