Top Vancouver Wedding Venues
One of the most important steps when wedding planning is finding the perfect wedding venue in Vancouver. Whether you want something small or to host a large affair, finding the right venue for your needs, taste and budget can be a challenge. I have had the pleasure of shooting in a range of Vancouver wedding venues, and to help you with your search, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorites:
Home of the University Women’s Club, beautiful Hycroft Manor is also available for weddings. The heritage garden and sweeping front steps are some of the best spots for wedding photography in Vancouver, great for group shots as well as portraits of the newlyweds.
One of the more unique Vancouver wedding venues, the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse is situated on the Fraser River. This stunning locale sets the perfect romantic scene, and on-site accommodation makes it ideal if you are hosting a wedding for many out-of-town guests.
Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar is ideal for the couple that wants a more relaxed wedding venue in Vancouver. This centrally-located restaurant has hosted over 350 weddings in the past twelve years, and can seat large groups of up to 130 comfortably.
Located just minutes from busy downtown Vancouver, The Loft at Earl’s is available for private hire. This distinctive space is great for a relaxed ceremony for just a few guests, as well as large parties of up to 150 guests. An ideal choice for the laid back, modern couple.
Chambar is one of the most exclusive dining spots in Vancouver, and great for a contemporary wedding reception. This Vancouver wedding venue can also be used as a great spot for a rehearsal dinner, or even an engagement party before the big day.
One of the best-known and most illustrious Vancouver wedding venues, the Vancouver Club is great for traditional wedding ceremonies of all sizes. The club dates back to 1889, and is a designated A class heritage building, making it great for couples that want to infuse their day with some elegance and history.
Situated on the breathtaking Jericho beach, this old historic building has facilities to host receptions both indoors and out. The Conservatory is great for colder months, while summer weddings can take place outdoors in the Garden Tent (which can seat up to 180 guests), making Brockhouse a versatile beach wedding venue in Vancouver.
This elegant building is located on the UBC Campus, and was a finalist for the Best Wedding Reception Venue at the 2013 BC Wedding Awards. I especially love the variety of different rooms that lend well to classic wedding photography poses, as well as the views over the water.
An elegant Tudor-style mansion, this Vancouver wedding venue is a spacious heritage property that acts as a gorgeous backdrop to any wedding. There is plenty of outdoor space for photographs, while dramatic wooden paneled walls, feature beams and other additions bring character to the interiors.
Hart House is not only a dream come true for couples-to-be, but it’s also one of my favorites as a wedding photographer in Vancouver. The lawns overlooking the water are beautiful for summer weddings, and the house itself is filled with hidden spots that are perfect for capturing intimate wedding photographs.
If you’re a romantic at heart, the Vancouver Art Gallery is an ideal spot. Marble staircases, sweeping hallways, and of course stunning paintings set the tone perfectly in this turn-of-the-century building. It is conveniently located in the downtown core, walking distance to hotels and city transit links to the airport.
Found in Coal Harbour, Loden Hotel is a boutique establishment with the perfect combination of wedding facilities and accommodation. The experienced events team can help you plan the perfect day, regardless of your wedding size, so you can have an unforgettable experience in one of Vancouver’s premier wedding venues.
