Since Carla & Ryan’s engagement session at Lynn Valley Canyon, I knew their intimate outdoor wedding at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Park would be special.
One thing that stuck out to me from when we all first met was the size of the bridal party and how close Ryan and Carla are to their friends. 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen made up the party and they were a dream to hang out with .. Especially at the reception set at Main Street’s Heritage Hall which was full of laughs and lots of dancing .. absolutely epic.
Heritage Hall is such a fantastic venue, huge windows, stained glass chandeliers a great setting for you and your guests.
Something that I’m shooting more of at weddings and which Carla & Ryan had chosen to do, was a first look. This truly is one of my favourite moments to capture and they picked the perfect setting under the huge trees at QE Park.
Thank you Carla and Ryan for choosing me to capture your day. A dream come true for me, really. You were both wonderful, your family and friends a treat to be around and I really enjoyed every minute of your wedding.
Now onto the story. So grab a large Cucumber Gin and Tonic guys .. this is a big one.

Carla wrote these kind words to me after the wedding. Truly grateful!
“Sachin was the single most important investment we made on our wedding day. He perfectly captured our most beloved people and the most important moments of our day, and these photos will be cherished in our family forever. From photos of the wedding favours that took hours to prepare, to photos of us sharing our first look, to photos of grandma feeding our flower girl smarties before the ceremony, he tells the story of our wedding day in a way that is artistic and meaningful. Not only does Sachin have a truly amazing gift as a photographer. he is also a really great person. Our family and friends loved spending time with him, and I realize how crucial this is in hindsight. Your photographer is with you and your bridesmaids drinking mimosas and tearing up in the morning, they are the only other person present when you share your first look, and they are the person that coaxes your photo-averse Grandma to happily pose. When we are old and showing our wedding photos to our kids we will still be grateful for Sachin!”
